2010 PACE Awards honor James & Betty Salter with "Spirit of Pensacola"

James and Betty Salter were honored with the "Spirit of Pensacola" award at the 50th annual Pensacola Area Commitment to Excellence (PACE) Awards. The PACE Awards are presented annually by Pensacola Bay Area Chamber of Commerce. "Spirit of Pensacola" is awarded to an individual who embodies the “Spirit of Pensacola” and has given many years of service in business, professional or community field. Additional PACE honors were awarded to an Emerging Leader of the Year, Business Leader of the Year, Professional Leader of the Year and Community Leader of the Year.
In her acceptance speech to an audience of nearly 500 business owners and community leaders, Betty praised the donors, sponsors, volunteers, local media and all those who have supported the mission of Pensacola Habitat. Betty completed her remarks by focusing on the true success of Habitat for Humanity - stories of success from Habitat families and their children.
