Building Futures Together: Community Leaders Unite for Pensacola Habitat’s Annual Executive Build

Pensacola, FL - Pensacola Habitat for Humanity's Annual Executive Build brought together community leaders for a day of service and collaboration, supported by generous sponsorships from participating organizations. C-Suite executives from PenAir Credit Union, Florida Power and Light, Gulf Winds Credit Union, and Sonny's BBQ joined forces to construct a new home for a deserving family.

The event, held on April 26 in Pensacola, exemplified the power of partnership and volunteerism in creating affordable housing solutions. Through their dedication and teamwork, these business leaders demonstrated their commitment to making a tangible difference in the lives of a local family.

“This is our second year of doing Executive Build and our values are very aligned with those of Habitat for Humanity.” Derrick Aguilar, Chief Experience Officer of PenAir Credit Union states, “We love to serve in many different ways, not just through our banking services but also through our hands, labor, and effort that we can put in. You swing that hammer, you put that nail in. That nail is going to be there as long as this house is here, and it’s going to be there with the family that lives in this house. It feels really good to see that direct impact.”

Amy Frantz, Regional Director of Sonny’s BBQ says, “This is my first construction experience. I’m learning all sorts of new stuff! We wanted to be a part of the community more, offer our hands, and feed all these wonderful people out here who are helping as well.”

Each participating organization not only supplied volunteers for this home build but also made monetary donations in the form of sponsorships for this build to be possible. Through these sponsorships, Executive Build brought in over $7,000 to directly benefit the mission of Pensacola Habitat for Humanity.

“It gives us the opportunity as an executive team to be out here and experience more of what our community is doing to improve itself alongside more executives from other organizations,” says Kurt Stenerson Chief Marketing Officer at Gulf Winds Credit Union. “I think it’s great that people are writing messages on the walls of the home that are heartfelt messages to the family. We enjoy partnering with Habitat for Humanity, like we have for a long time.”

Pensacola Habitat for Humanity extends its heartfelt gratitude to all participants for their invaluable contributions and unwavering support in building a stronger, more vibrant community.
